This is the 1 hour 40 summary of all eight films in the Invisible Women series.. and more besides. Makes other film documentaries look pale and uninteresting and packed with unnecessary props and devices and tricks. This seems to just leap on like a salmon, encompassing not only a potted history of film making but an in depth dive into everything that makes up editing: the basics of joining shots together, the volumes of material involved, the process, the use of sound as part of the puzzle, creating scenes from nothing, the importance of performances, the editor-director relationship, all with great contributions from great editors themselves and an array of illustrative clips from some of the best films ever made. Considering it was made with no resources and for no money, it's an amazing achievement.
